Things you leave until the end

I’ve learned that there are some things you have to leave unit the end, or later.  This list might grow.

Shocks: without the eight of a drive train and body on the chassis the springs won’t compress enough to fit them.

Limiter straps: same deal

U-Bolt nuts: don’t torque the all the way until you have the weight of the vehicle on them.  The weight will compress and help the springs “seat” themselves. I tightened them to 20-lbs for now.

Also to remind myself here a a running list of things to remember to do:

Fill transmission

Valve cover gasket once the engine is ready to run

More to be added I’m sure.

Don't install the seat box covers and floor panels until you are sure the clutch, hand brake and fuels lines are working correctly.

Don't install the wings until you are certain everything in the engine bays is working correctly.

Don't install the wiring covers in the bed until you know the lights all work correctly.
