Vent seals

 Vent seals

I got some seals from a friend who had them specially made.  The are much softer than the available originals or aftermarket ones.  the should have fit much easier, however I found them to be too stretchy, and would over-stretch the area.  They require a lot of playing with that is not possible once the adhesive is laid down.  I first used 3M and later used E6000. It got quite messy and I even cleaned it all back off at one point and redid them.  It remains to be seen if they will hold.  I may redo them later on the flap side rather than the bulkhead side.

Galvanizing

 Galvanizing

There is a galvanizing company near me that I and my friends use.  We try to consolidate orders because there is a $150 minimum and we have yet to get over that minimum, so I don't really know know how much we could get done for that price.  I do know they will galvanize a chassis but I haven't done that yet.

It is important to take picture of your parts, with counts and wire the parts together because they can sometimes loose parts in the vat.  I dent give then real small parts especially is there is any articulating hinges.  Any threaded areas will need to be cleaned up with tap and die.

The product you get back is often full of "chads". Little overflows of galvanizing the needs to filed, as well as hole that need to be redrilled.  Not normally a big deal but it is time consuming to finalize the parts.
